Ruth Asawa SOTA SSC

A group of faculty, parents, administrators and students that provides oversight on a range of school issues and guides the Site Planning Process to ensure that the needs of all students are specifically addressed.

Each SFUSD school must have an elected School Site Council (SSC) to represent parents, students, community members, and school staff in the school governance process. The SSC has a number of important responsibilities, including: reviewing and analyzing student achievement data, gathering community input, helping develop the Balanced Scorecard/Single Plan for Student Achievement (BSC/SPSA) and the school site budget, and monitoring the implementation of the plan and budget.

Interested in joining the SSC this year?

The Ruth Asawa SOTA School Site Council will be having elections this Fall.  Interested in joining, working on developing the Academic Plan, working on the school site budget and learning more about our school?  Fill out this Self Nomination Form!  We are looking for community members (parents, guardians and other family members) and for student members.

The SSC is expected to:

  • Review the SFUSD Strategic Plan: Beyond the Talk
  • Review and analyze student data.
  • Solicit community input and develop a needs assessment.
  • Assist the principal in developing the Academic Plan and school site budget.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the Academic Plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Approve the Academic Plan and school site budget before it is submitted to the District for final review and approval

To nominate yourself and be placed on the ballot, please fill out the self nomination form by September 17, 2018.  Elections will take place in early October.  New members and alternates will take their seats at the scheduled October meeting (10/18/2018).
