Dear Ruth Asawa SOTA Students and Families:

I'm honored and pleased to announce the next principal of Ruth Asawa SOTA, Ms. Caitlin Boyle, starting in the fall semester 2019. I cannot imagine a better equity centered leader for our community.

Please see the message below from Mr. Bill Sanderson, Assistant Superintendent of High Schools.

Sincerely,

Barnaby Payne, Principal

Ruth Asawa SOTA, SFUSD

Dear Colleagues and School Community of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts,

I want to take this opportunity to personally and publicly thank Mr. Barnaby Payne for his service in the past three years to your community as Principal. He has given it more than 100 percent!

I would also like to thank the Ruth Asawa Community for collaborating with me over the past few months as we worked together through the interview process to identify and make a recommendation for the school’s next principal. It was an absolute joy to work with the interview committee representing parents, teachers, students, and classified staff at the school.

Last night the Board of Education and the Superintendent approved the appointment of Ms. Caitlin Boyle as the new Principal of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. Ms. Boyle has served as Assistant Principal at the school for the past three years.

Before her tenure at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, Ms. Boyle worked as a Supervisor in the Special Education Division of SFUSD. Prior to her career in San Francisco, Ms. Boyle was the Director of Inclusion for the New York City Department of Education and a teacher in New York City. She holds a BA in English/Art History from the University of Connecticut, an MS in Urban Education from Mercy College, and an M.Ed. in Organizational Leadership and Development from Columbia University Teachers College.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Boyle as the new Principal of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts!

Sincerely,

Bill W. Sanderson Assistant Superintendent of High Schools
