Wellness Center

The Wellness Center believes that academic success for all students starts with being healthy in body, mind and spirit. To this end, Wellness coordinates non-judgmental, student-focused health, mental health, and substance abuse services and programs for students at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts.

Services

A variety of confidential services are available to students, including mental health and substance abuse counseling, nursing services, case management, support/empowerment groups, conflict mediation, referrals to community agencies and more. Wellness places priority on the whole person: academic and physical and emotional well being are all priorities.

In addition to the staff, Wellness works with counselors, case managers, group facilitators, and interns from community based organizations (CBOs) and universities to provide weekly support services for students.

Wellness Center Wish List!

The Asawa SOTA Wellness Center would like to encourage Parents & Guardians to donate nutritional snacks to the Wellness Center for students who may need them during the day. We offer these snacks to students who are not feeling well. These students may experience low energy, have headaches or may not have had a chance to grab breakfast before starting their school day. If you would like to donate to help our students, the SOTA Wellness Center is accepting donations of the following:

  • Cups for hot tea
  • Instant oat meal
  • Breakfast bars
  • Herbal teas
  • Gold Fish crackers

If you have items you’d like to donate, please drop them off in the SOTA Wellness Center room 226 or leave them in the main office, clearly marked “Donation for Wellness Center.”
